In order to understand how the Road Guardian contract works, you must first understand your Comprehensive Automobile Insurance Policy.
Your premium is based on a number of issues, such as credit rating, value of the vehicle, and the DEDUCTIBLE amount. The deductible amount is the amount the insured must pay towards any claim that is made with the Insurance Carrier paying the remainder. For example, if you have an accident, and the amount of the repair is $2500 and your comprehensive policy has a $250 deductible, the insured must pay the first $250 with the Insurance carrier paying the balance or $2250.
The important thing to understand about insurance claims is that 90% of ALL comprehensive insurance claims is for a windshield replacement. Again, 90% of all comprehensive insurance claims are for windshield replacements.
If your Insurance policy is written with a $250 deductible, and you put a claim in for a windshield replacement, you will pay $250 if that windshield is more than $250. In other words, if the windshield replacement cost is $275.66, you will pay the $250 deductible out of your pocket and your Insurance will pay the balance of $25.66. In addition, even though you have just paid the lion’s share of your windshield replacement, your Insurance carrier will “ding” your account for the claim, and chances are very good that you next year’s insurance premium will be higher – a no win situation for you.
The Road Guardian contract works for you by JUST SAVING MONEY. For under $100 per year, the Road Guardian provides up to TWO free windshield replacements per year as well as unlimited chip repairs for NO ADDITIONAL COST!! What that means to your budget is, if you do need to replace only one windshield, you will save a minimum of $150. Not bad for the first go-round.
Now for the bigger savings. Again because 90% of all comprehensive claims are for windshields, you may want to consider raising your deductible. Let’s say your current deductible is $250. By raising that amount to $500, you could save up to $200 per year on your premium. But you still have to pay for the windshield. By purchasing a Road Guardian contract for $100, you still have a savings of $100. Now if you need that windshield replaced, it’s FREE. You’ve just saved on average of an additional $275 or a total yearly savings of $375. It just gets better if you need the second windshield.
Of course if you have $100 deductible, you can save even more on your premium by raising your deductible to $500. Your savings here may result in $250 or more. Factor in $100 for the contract, one windshield replacement and you have just save in excess of $425 with no negative reporting on your insurance.
